The MB5B INFRARED is an extra-large, highly configurable front-access meter bag in the new black and red color scheme. It features an external daisy chain for attaching pouches or accessories. The bag can be worn over both shoulders with the included, removable backpack straps, over one shoulder with the optional padded shoulder strap, or carried at your side with the over-molded gripped handle. The outside of the bag includes 8 pockets on the front flap and a padded tablet computer pocket on the back. The MB5B INFRARED also features our proprietary V-SWAP™ system of interchangeable panels, allowing you to customize the internal storage layout.

Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated
Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat
Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.Don’t Overstuff the Bag
Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. If you have to work hard to close your zipper(s), your tool bag is most likely overstuffed… proceed with caution!Video & Product Sell Sheet

I gotta say, this is my 5th veto, and I’ve only been in hvac 6 years. I definitely love all that I’ve got. One finally needed to be replaced and I got this infrared. This is much better than the full size backpack I tried. Back pack straps come off and you can get the single shoulder strap. This bag is my favorite by far.

I have been on the search for a few years to find a backpack that has removable straps (for versatility and to be able to replace them when worn out), access to a single main compartment from the front and did not require me to open two opposing sides of the bag (like the Tech Pac, Tech Pac MC, etc.), two meter pouches on the sides, removable panels for customization of tool layout, enough storage slots/pockets (exterior and interior) for the tools and accessories that I want to utilize, tape clips, tape strap, exterior daisy chain loops, hanging hook, handle, all black or black with accent color(s), and could store one or more power tools.
The bag that met all my criteria is the MB5B Infrared. So, I ordered it and am really enjoying it. It’s much smaller than the backpack I’ve been using. So, with less volume available than before, naturally, I had to reevaluate what was necessary to put in the bag. I managed to do this and have a bag at a weight that’s acceptable to me, as well as the storage layout I prefer. If you’re coming from a larger volume bag and larger tools, you may also find yourself needing to more carefully evaluate which tools you absolutely need to carry versus what’s just nice to have.
If I were to improve the bag, my wish list would be:
– Added padding thickness of the backpack straps.
– Some small exterior tool slots such as near the meter pouches and corners of the bag. That allows storage of some smaller items like precision screwdrivers, etc. A lot of Veto bags have these slots already.
To sum it up, I’m very satisfied with this bag and I’m glad that I finally found one that has the quality and features I prefer.
