Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated
Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat
Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.Don’t Overstuff the Bag
Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. The Veto Pro-Pac TECH-MCTP INFRARED is not the cheapest bag you’ll ever buy, but it may be the last one you’ll ever buy! The bags construction is incredible. The material is rugged and the bag is structured. The design is built to be durable under tough conditions. We install and maintain larger Tel-Data infrastructure and having ‘run-and-gun’ bags as well as day-long (and often longer) new installs and infrastructure upgrades, having a bag that incorporates a ton of hand tool storage as well as meter pockets and room for just about everything is a must. I have had a lot of bags, from less-expensive to purpose built bags from major tool companies, and the TECH-MCTP INFRARED beats them all. The included V-Swap panels are versatile and almost intuitive when it comes to load-outs. I have reconfigured the bag several times and its hard to run out of ways to load this bag.
One side of the bag, when opened, folds out and is held shelf-like by a strap that keeps the side in a horizontal position, out of harms way. It can be used as a small surface to place hardware and tools. Veto even engineered into the pocket area a magnet that holds bits and hardware. The other side zip’s open as well and although it lacks the retainer strap, the structure is such that it doesn’t touch the ground, even fully unzipped. The side pockets are perfect for meters and smaller items. I use one side for a digital clamp meter, and the other side for a set of precision drivers. Fully loaded, the sides close comfortably and securely. Every zipper on this bag is heavy duty, and with a little bit of zipper wax, work smoothly. The base is a composite material that resists slipping, is element-proof and attached in such a way that it could fall out of a moving vehicle and remain in one piece!
The carry handle is rugged to the point of being nearly over-engineered! With a hard plastic overall structure as well as a softer material where you carry it, as well as a heavy duty shoulder strap, the TECH-MCTP INFRARED is comfortable to carry, even fully loaded.
If you are going to own just one high quality bag, check this one out… It probably won’t be your last. (full disclosure, I’m on number six!)

This bag is a great upgrade to the TECH MCT-BLACKOUT. Of course the pouches are an addition, but there are other improvements throughout. This video goes over those changes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHHbQnEMXc8 I only with they would have had the “buildout” version when this came out as I prefer a tool panel on both sides.

As a low-voltage electrician, I need a lot of different tools and equipment readily available to be time-efficient. The Tech-MCTP infrared is the perfect bag for me. Plenty of room on front and back for screwdrivers and various types of cutters, pliers, and crimping tools. With the two side pockets being large enough to house a multi-meter and toner, and probes. Easily customizable with the V-swap inserts. A steady base makes it almost impossible to tip over. Yet rugged and well-made to handle the daily grind without fail. 10 out of 10 I do recommend.
