Additional Information

VETO PRO PAC TOOL BAGS PRODUCT CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated

Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.

Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat

Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.

Don’t Overstuff the Bag

Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. If you have to work hard to close your zipper(s), your tool bag is most likely overstuffed… proceed with caution!

I like this bag; my hand tools have never been so well organized. It took me several tries moving the tools around to arrive at the handiest arrangement. I am a cabinetmaker, also doing carpentry and residential construction work. I was initially shopping for a rolling tool box that would keep my primary hand tools organized, such that I could work from the box and see everything, and select anything directly and quickly without having to dig around. I needed the tool box to be compact enough to go in and out of the back seat of my 4 door Tundra, something that the rolling plastic base boxes in the Milwaukee Packout, or Dewalt Tough System etc. are too big and unwieldy to do. I shopped for a couple of years, I considered every wheeled hard case under the sun, but I never found a case that looked like it fit the bill. I’m pushing 60, and my strategy for staying in the game is to make my jobsite kit as convenient as possible, and as light as possible, and I have never ended up regretting paying top dollar for excellent tools, even though, admittedly, it can be painful at the time of purchase. At 19 lbs. the TECH-LCT Wheeler is at least 5 to 10 lbs. lighter than any comparable capacity, empty plastic wheeled case, that still needs dividers, which will add more weight. So, I pushed past my initial desire to avoid zippers and cordura, thinking of how well many high end camping and military packs hold up, and went with the TECH-LCT, accepting the responsibility to be mindful of the zippers. I chose the taller model over the TECH-XL, so I could vertically store a 16″ level, 16″ digital angle gauge, hammer, flat bar and a few other long items. Also, as a carpenter I decided to accept the compromise that a few larger basic items, like a framing square and handsaws, would go in a different open top tool bag that would not be heavy, and not need wheels. So now, instead of transferring the hand tools I think I need into a bucket caddy, and making 3 trips back to the truck for some unforeseen needed small tool, I can quickly and conveniently wheel around a pretty comprehensive kit about 50 plus lbs of hand tools, and keep them handy. Lights are good to have in this bag. There are videos of various solutions. Milwaukee makes a small side oriented magnetic flashlight called the Rover that I use. I attached a small steel plate with adhesive velcro to the inside top of the bag. The side magnet of the flashlight sticks to the steel and viola, lighted bag. If I need the flashlight for something else, it pops right off. The 5 year warranty will get me to retirement, and the build quality of this bag is in a league of its own; I’m optimistic.

    Nice Quality.

The side pockets are not deep enough, My screw drivers fall out all time. The quality is really good and I love the extra height for my 18 inch crescent wrench and hammer. The zippered pockets are all too tight to fit much in. I do love the bag though and the wheels are great not having to carry a bag for 12 hours. I love having everything with me all the time. I am not complaining about the bag just hope to see veto change or make side pockets bigger. I agree about the tape holder, put it in front of bag or make some deep pockets for front. Thanks for making quality stuff. Wheels do really good over hoses and in cracked parking lot at my work. I don’t see it holding up for 5 years . I’ve only heard great things about warranty returns from guys I work with. The price is kinda high in my opinion but I’m happy with my purchase.

First off this bag isn’t cheap , but it’s a great bag and worth the pain lol . It’s a great bag with plenty of storage and pockets for organizing for my ocd . My only gripe is I think they focus on side accessory pockets and tape measure holders a little too much. Sounds nice but when you go through tight spaces or doorways the tape measure seem to stick out and gets caught on anything and everything. Other than putting a tape measure holder on the front . (Which is nothing ) this is a great bag that helps my bad back get through another day .
