“I grew up on a farm, so I was always working with my hands and making repairs with whatever we had available. I liked taking things apart to see how they worked. I decided to go into the HVAC field because it allowed me to solve problems and work with my hands. The prospect of having a different scenery everyday was an added bonus.

“I went to school at University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) and graduated in 1998, and I have been in the heating and cooling industry since I started college in 1996. I’ve done new home duct work, replacements, and service. I spent several years working in property management which gave me the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial units.

“When I started my HVAC company I did everything myself. Since then I merged my company with another company to create a larger firm and allows me to focus more on the service end. Service appeals to me because I enjoy diagnosing and solving problems.

“New technology has changed the HVAC industry and requires a new skill set and technical skills. The demand for energy efficient products to combat high energy costs and home automation products is increasing. I like to be on the cutting edge of new technology and new products. I feel it’s my duty to educate my customers and present them with all the options to meet their needs.”
