Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated

Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.

Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat

Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.

Don’t Overstuff the Bag

Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. If you have to work hard to close your zipper(s), your tool bag is most likely overstuffed…proceed with caution!

    I purchased this apron from Atlas tools and Machinery in Canada. I am exceptionally happy with this apron. It has more than enough pockets for tools that I carry all the time. I have three issues. First; under both hammer loops are rounded pockets that wont allow me to put my hammer in there. I could flatten the pocket underneath but then I lose a pocket. If the loop were a little larger I could get my hammer in there. Second; I can’t figure out how to use the large loops inside the apron. I believe they are meant to be used to carry a drill/driver. The lower apron straps are in the way and my drill keeps falling out. Third; being brand new and not broken in the material is very stiff. Every time I bend over the material wont bend and my measuring tape hits the floor. The same happens sometimes when I pick up a piece of wood. I believe that a better spot for the tape is bottom right or left where most tapes are hung or pocketed. I am hoping that once it is broken in this will stop happening.
    Other that these three issues I love the design. The material is going to last me many years and the craftsmanship is wonderful, and last but not least the shoulder straps and snap system are great. Keep up the great work and thank you for a top notch apron that I didn’t have to spend $800 on.

    I am hight impressed by all of the Veto Pro Pac products, and this is one that I just had to have. The material used is super durable yet easy to work with. The craftsmanship is very good and you can tell there was a lot of effort put into the development of the product. The storage options that are available on this TA-XL shop apron are insane. I will probably never be able to use every one of the pockets, loops, clips, etc… Veto Pro Pac is definitely going to be my go to for future products like this.
