Keep the Zippers Clean & Lubricated

Over time, dirt and grit will “clog” the zipper coils preventing them from staying closed. To keep this from happening, clean and lubricate your zippers twice a year (more often if you work on a job site with a high amount of airborne debris). To clean the coils: Scrub them with soapy water; a tooth brush works very well. After scrubbing the coils, blow them out with an air hose to dislodge any other fine grit that didn’t dislodge with the brush. To lubricate the coils: Apply a silicone spray, beeswax or a zipper lubricant.

Protect the Zippers From Sharp Objects and/or Excessive Heat

Any sharp object or heat source is capable of permanently damaging the zippers. Once a zipper coil is cut or singed the zipper will not function and in most cases is not repairable. Most of the cut zipper coils we see are the result of sharp tools stored inside the bag with the sharp side facing up. Make sure to keep the sharp edges of your tools facing down in your bag and away from the zipper coils.

Don’t Overstuff the Bag

Overstuffing your tool bag will very likely cause significant stress on the zippers that is above and beyond what the bag was built for and will eventually cause the zipper(s) to separate. If you have to work hard to close your zipper(s), your tool bag is most likely overstuffed… proceed with caution!

    Got this for my around the house general repair/install and maintenance bag. No more going back for tools (most of the time). Plenty of room for hand tools and screw gun and parts. Shoulder strap makes it easier to carry. It has so much room you get get it pretty heavy, so the shoulder strap is nice….especially when the neighbors ask you to “come over and take a look” at something. I clip my tape measure on one of the pockets. A+++

    I like how the back is curved to fit the contour of your body making it more comfortable to carry on your side. The handle on the back makes it easier to get inside the open area of the bag like a wide mouth bag instead of the middle which would be in your way to place items inside. Only thing I don’t like is the front pocket is too small. Now…….. having owned multiple bags, backpacks and a fire house bag I would love to see Veto make the following. Due to walking long distances with my tools especially at night would love to see this “Riggers Bag” come in a larger size like the size of a backpack, heck maybe even a wheeler version, deeper also with more pockets inside, and the outside pocket to be larger to fit a VOM inside, and come with a HI Visibility option also with back pack harness on the back so you could also carry it as a backpack. Since this would be larger than the regular version you could carry larger, and taller items in this which would be great and way more comfortable than carrying a bag of this size on the side. That is the only thing Veto is missing is giving more options for having a backpack type of harness to carry some of these bags.

    I am an Electrician and i bought a bag made for boat riggers..Love the pocket lay out, it works for me , after all my tools are in place there is still a lot of room in the middle for my screw gun, safety glass, glove, tape measure and small parts container.. Not sure why the Veto website does not have photos of the inside showing you the layout.. Its a Veto so its quality made.. One thing i wish it had is a tape measure holder..
